FAQ
Here are some frequently asked questions. If yours is not below please give us a call – we will be happy to assist you with any inquiry!
How do I get started?
Because I believe in taking on a collaborative approach with all of my clients, I begin with a complimentary phone consultation to help me learn about you and for you to ask any questions you have. The goal is for us to get aquatinted and for me to know what makeup style you hope for, what inspires you, what your specific makeup concerns are, and if you have any skin allergies or sensitivities I need to be aware of. Following the phone consultation, we will schedule a preview and vision board to bring our collective ideas to life.
What happens during the preview?
The preview is an aesthetic collaboration of your personal vision and my professional input on the best way to bring your inspirations to life. To ensure we have options to choose from, I create a few variations of your concept. Typically the preview lasts approximately two hours.
Is there a preview for fashion makeup too?
Yes, particularly for runway. As with our brides, I perform a test for fashion clients to ensure I am executing their vision to the fullest.
What kind of makeup do you use?
While the majority of products I use are from luxury brands, my approach is to use products that will enhance my client’s skin type and skin tone, no matter their price point. The brands I use range from high-end (Chanel, Dior, YSL, Tom Ford, Kevin Au-coin) to professional (MAC, Makeup Forever) to high-performing drugstore brands. My background as an esthetician and cosmetic educator allows me to not only select the best of the best, but to apply them flawlessly as well.
Do you provide hair services?
Absolutely. While I am a makeup artist, I also provide hair services to complement the makeup.
Do you provide services for the whole bridal party and families?
I provide services for both small and large parties. My team of trained, talented artists and stylists possess exceptional skills to accommodate any sized group.
I like really natural makeup. Can you do that?
Yes! Unless it’s a creative fashion shoot, I firmly believe in enhancing one’s natural beauty versus covering it up with layers of makeup. My motto is for each look to be “Beautifully Finished, Never Overdone.” It’s a technique I embrace and have perfected throughout the years for both bridal and fashion.
For bridal, is there different makeup for the photos and the event?
No — my technique is carefully designed to cover both photo and “in person” looks. I have worked extensively with numerous photographers and understand the nuances of photo and lighting needs; my technique will ensure your makeup stays natural and beautiful in person and up close.
Do you stay for touchups for the dinner and afterparty?
Yes. Our services are tailored to your needs and we will cover as little or as much of your event as you require.
How do travel arrangements work?
There are no travel fees for any event within NYC, NJ, Westchester, or the Long Island area unless overnight stays are required. For destination or long distance weddings or fashion projects, travel expenses and accommodations are included in the proposal. Depending on your preference, we are happy to handle our own travel and hotel arrangements with an approved budget or these arrangements can be made for us.
