How do I get started?
We begin with a complimentary phone consultation, where I learn all about you and your beauty vision – what is your personality, style and vibe and what kind of look are you going for? What is inspiring you? What are your specific concerns…and do you have any sensitivities or allergies we need to work around? I believe in connecting and building a good rapport with all our clients – it generates the most precise and authentic results, plus makes the day that much more relaxed and enjoyable for you. Following the phone consult, I schedule a preview and vision board to bring our collective ideas to life!
What happens during the preview?
The preview is an aesthetic collaboration of your personal vision and my professional input on what would be the best way to bring your inspirations to life. I usually set aside approximately two hours and create a few variations of your concept so we have a few styles to choose from!
Is there a preview for fashion makeup too?
Yes, particularly for runway. Like with our brides I perform a test for fashion clients to ensure I am executing the vision to the fullest.
What kind of makeup do you use?
I use only the most exceptional products and are constantly exploring new ones – while most are luxury brands, if I come across a lesser known product I love I incorporate it. My makeup ranges from high end favorites such as Chanel, Dior, YSL, Tom Ford and Kevin Aucoin to professional only MAC and Makeup Forever… to my favorite drug store Loreal eyeliner, among many others! My background as an esthetician and a cosmetic educator and researcher helps us select just the right kind of products and how best to apply them for a luminous result.
Do you also style hair?
Absolutely. While I am a makeup specialist, I bring in the top hair stylists in the industry on request, ones I work with often and will coordinate with on our beauty plan.
Do you do the whole bridal party and families?
I handle parties small and large. I have a team of trained, talented artists and stylists that possess exceptional skill level to accommodate any size group.
I like it to look like I am not wearing makeup at all. Can you do that?
Unless it’s a creative fashion shoot, I firmly believe in enhancing natural beauty – not covering it up with pounds of makeup! The “no makeup” makeover is actually more difficult to achieve but a technique I embrace – and have perfected for both bridal and fashion.
For bridal, is there different makeup for the photos and the event?
No – my technique is carefully designed to cover both photo and “in person” looks. I have worked extensively with numerous photographers and understand the nuances of photo and lighting needs – while still ensuring you stay natural and beautiful in person and up close!
Do you stay for touchups for the dinner and afterparty?
Yes we are flex – our services are tailored to your needs and we will cover as little or as much of your event as you require.
How do travel arrangements work?
There are no travel fees for any event within NYC, NJ, Westchester, or Long Island area unless overnight stays are required. For destination or long distance weddings or fashion projects, travel expenses and accommodations are included in the proposal. We are happy to handle our own travel and hotel arrangements with an approved budget, or the client can make these arrangements for us – whatever your preference.
